ST JAMES, Jamaica — Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Chairman Robert “Bobby” Montague has tasked party faithfuls with helping to get other Jamaicans to vote JLP on September 3.

“I want you to pledge with me, I want you to repeat, ‘I pledge that I want to be a worker for the Jamaica Labour Party. I will visit 25 homes and I will make sure at least five Jamaicans vote for the Labour Party,” he said to Labourites gathered for a mass meeting and manifesto launch in Montego Bay, St James Sunday night.

Calling them the green army, he urged green-clad supporters to help the JLP secure a third consecutive term in government.

“We want everybody to be a worker for the Labour Party to help us to win the election,” Montague urged.

“Tonight, I want you to raise your hands with me if you want to join the green army,” he urged.

With 10 days to go before the general election is held, the JLP launched its long-awaited manifesto Sunday, a three-volume document that builds on what the party lists as its accomplishments over the last two terms leading the country.

One of the documents focuses on education, while another consists of highlights of the two longer documents.
