Love at First Sight

Sometimes the most extraordinary love stories begin when least expected. For Chederah Henry and Dane Grant, their love story proved that destiny is often much closer than you think. The couple sealed their vows on July 24, 2025 at the East Beach Club in St Mary in front of an intimate gathering of their loved ones.

It was in July 2014 that Dane and Chederah’s lives first intersected. Chederah, who lived in the United States, was on vacation in Jamaica visiting family. By happenstance, Dane lived next door to her uncle. Sparks flew the moment their eyes locked. “There was an immediate attraction,” Dane shared with Tuesday Style Vows (TSV)
. “We ended up going out with her cousins that evening and held hands all night.” Chederah too was immediately smitten. “He was striking — cute and funny, with an effortless way of talking that really drew me in,” she said.

The miles between them — spanning Jamaica and the United States — couldn’t stand in the way of their growing love. As they continued to talk and grow closer, the distance only strengthened their bond. They wasted little time in making their relationship official.

“We had been talking every single day for years and always made it a point to be together whenever she was in town. It was clear we were obsessed with each other, so we decided it was time to make our relationship official,” Dane said.

“From the first day we met, I knew he would be a special person in my life. I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him because, after all this time, he has always treated me with unwavering kindness and consideration,” Chederah reflected.

Dane sealed his commitment to Chederah in January 2025. “I knew something was up because he was acting so weird and doing things he normally wouldn’t,” Chederah said. Though their dinner at Gloria’s in Port Royal did not go according to plan, the night was saved back at his place, where she was greeted by a room filled with balloons and flower petals. Seeing him on one knee, Chederah happily said yes. “I knew he put a lot of effort into it,” she said, adding that the day’s mishaps just made for another great story to tell.

Months after their engagement, Chederah and Dane’s dream wedding came to life, orchestrated by Destination Event Essentials Limited. Chederah, stunning in a mermaid-style gown, and Dane, sharp in a classic tuxedo, were the picture of elegance. With her father, Robert Henry, by her side, Chederah walked up the aisle to meet her bridegroom to CeCe Winans’ Goodness of God. Under the guidance of Reverend Donna Calnick, they committed their futures to one another.

The celebration continued at Mansfield House, Tower Isle, where Flava and Spice Catering served a delectable banquet. Following a series of heartfelt toasts, the newly-weds sliced into their half-and-half chocolate and vanilla cake from Sheila’s Homemade Pastries. Swaying to the romantic notes of Ed Sheeran’s Perfect, Dane and Chederah danced their way into the first moments of their new life.

The newly-weds honeymooned in both Ocho Rios and Montego Bay.
