Shorts du jour: Jorts
Denim cut-off shorts are always big for summer. But, for 2025, it’s all about ‘jorts’! Not to be confused with jogging shorts, as the portmanteau suggests, jorts are the long-line, loose-fitting-enough-to-create-a-breeze, skimming-just-above-or-below-the-knee denim shorts that have taken over the sartorial zeitgeist.
They have been infiltrating runways, high street brands, and Instagram feeds everywhere, and can be traced back to Spring/Summer 2023, when Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, and Fendi featured variations in their collections. Coperni and Valentino quickly followed, and now you can find jorts everywhere.
And, of course, local boutique owners and stylistas have taken notice, with stores like ShopFashionenira offering customised pairs, and Youllanda’s Touch stocking trendy variations. With a few weeks left in the summer season, and the party calendar still active, Tuesday Style Fashion (TSF) shares a few Rock-fab OOTDs that have influenced us to tap into the trend.

Youllanda’s Touch principal Youllanda Dunbar was early on the trend, putting an edgy spin on a classic pair while out in LA, and later stocking similar styles at her Red Hills Road boutique.
If you’re feeling uninspired by some of the jorts you’ve seen, and you’re looking for something a little more au courant, think about adding a distressed pair to your wardrobe.
You know the trend is approved if Shop Fashionenira boss Devarine “Fash” McLean rocks it! Never one to fit the mould, Fash wears a camo pair she customised herself, custom rhinestone tank, and ankle boots. Hit her up @shopfashionenira for one-of-a-kind pieces.
