When Dwayne Berbick, Peter Clarke, Heather Pinnock, Peta-Gaye Simpson, Cecil Foster, and Steven Livingston dispense advice, we listen! After all, they are experts in affordable housing, water resources, lighting, real estate development, and home renovation. The six presenters and Jamaica Observer Design Week conceptualiser Novia McDonald-Whyte had a captive audience of interior designers, industry professionals, and stakeholders from different sectors at the Design Week Ja 2025 launch at S Hotel, Kingston on Sunday, October 5.

“Design Week was created to showcase the beauty of our island. We all know it’s beautiful, and of course, we look forward to turning keys and understanding what’s going on. But we wanted to showcase the individuals who are actually making those interiors beautiful. And, of course, the painters, the electricians, the artisans, every single person,” said McDonald-Whyte.

Design Week, now in its eighth year, celebrates the incredible impact of design on people’s lives. This year’s theme, ‘Creative Resilience’, promises a fresh perspective with Conversations In Designs scheduled for ARC Manufacturing, Appliance Traders, Ashley Furniture Homestore, Spaces, Pinnacle Montego Bay, and H&L Rapid True Value.
