Beauty, Bravery… and a Touch of Pink Power! [PART 1]
Thirty breast cancer survivors from Jamaica Reach To Recovery (JR2R) were on Tuesday, October 14, pampered with full-service salon makeovers, a celebration of confidence, courage, and beauty that runs far deeper than skin. The annual wellness retreat, held in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, took place at the HEART College of Beauty Services, where women enjoyed hair treatments, styling, and manicures, all thoughtfully adapted to their post-treatment needs, with some services supported by Level 3 HEART students.
This initiative is led by the National Association of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists (NAHC), with support from Design Essentials and Beauty Plus Academy. For over 10 years, this initiative has focused on restoring confidence, nurturing emotional well-being, and giving survivors a safe space to feel seen, valued, and beautiful in every sense of the word.
