KINGSTON, Jamaica — A section of Red Hills Road in St Andrew was blocked by residents on Tuesday due to dangling power lines amid the passage of Hurricane Melissa on the island.
Residents used car tyres and other items to erect the blockade in the vicinity of the Rubis gas station on the thoroughfare.
According to the residents, JPS was made aware of the issue.
Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica at around 11am on Tuesday in St Elizabeth, located in the southwest of the island.
