UPDATE: Suspected drowning victim identified as security guard
ST JAMES, Jamaica — A man whose body was recovered from the Montego River on Sunday has been identified.
He has been identified as Chris Henry, a security guard of a St James address.
Henry is suspected to have died after he encountered difficulties while swimming in a section of the river referred to as Step River.
His body was found by the Jamaica Defence Force just before 5:00 pm, following a multi-agency operation after an alarm was raised about the situation.
That area had become a popular area for swimming, but was changed dramatically following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
