JFF to announce new Reggae Boyz coach on Friday
KINGSTON, Jamaica— The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has confirmed it will announce a new head coach for the Reggae Boyz on Friday, ahead of the team’s FIFA World Cup 2026 play-off campaign in March.
The appointment follows the resignation of Steve McClaren, who stepped down after Jamaica missed out on automatic qualification following a 0-0 draw with Curaçao on Tuesday.
JFF president Michael Ricketts says the federation will finalise the decision after a meeting with the executive and technical committee.
“We’ll be announcing the coach tomorrow after a meeting with the executive of the JFF. So hopefully, we’ll be able to get things right,” Ricketts told Observer Online Thursday afternoon.
Jamaica will face New Caledonia in the Pathway 1 semi-final, with the winner advancing to meet DR Congo.
