There was much to give thanks for Thursday last as live music returned to the Jamaica Pegasus hotel. Jazz Night, hosted by Jamaica Music Museum Curator Herbie Miller inside the cosy Blend Bar & Lounge attracted a capacity crowd of jazz aficionados eager to groove to the mellow notes of the Orville Hammond Trio, featuring pianist Orville Hammond, bassist Leon Duncan, and percussionist Clayon Samuels. They were later joined by vocalist Sandra Crawford, whose commanding voice thrilled the audience with a selection of timeless classics.
Beyond the music, the evening’s special jazz menu, complete with top-shelf spirits, added the requisite panache.
