You’ve Got With Me A Way
Forever starts here.(Photo: Devon Biggs)
Lifestyle, Vows
December 2, 2025

You’ve Got With Me A Way

You got a way with me

Somehow you got me to believe

In everything that I could be

I’ve gotta say, you really got a way

You got a way it seems

You gave me faith to find my dreams

You’ll never know just what that means

Can’t you see, you got a way with me

— You’ve Got A Way by Shania Twain

No time zone or mileage could stand in the way of Shereen Brown and Irvin Smith. Indeed, from their very first meeting, they manifested their happily ever after, which culminated in nuptials on October 4, 2025, at The Loft Wine Lounge in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

The first chapter of their love story unfolded in 2018 at the Jamaica Observer Ocho Rios office, where Shereen was instantly attracted to Irvin’s confidence and charm.

“He had that combination of being effortlessly charming, genuinely sweet and humble, and yet completely full of confidence. I was instantly intrigued,” Shereen shared with Tuesday Style Vows (TSV).

Fate intervened in 2019 when Irvin moved to Trinidad and Tobago. Their connection, however, proved stronger than the miles. They stayed close and eventually took the leap into a long-distance relationship two years later. For Shereen, Irvin’s dedication was proof that their bond was not mere chance — it was the result of manifesting their relationship into being. That belief in destiny was the foundation of their love. “I truly believe that soulmates will always end up together,” he says. “No matter how much distance there was, if it’s meant to be, it’ll be.”

The instant Irvin returned to Jamaica on October 4, 2024, the long-distance chapter was closed with a proposal. “I picked him up from the airport, and we went straight to our hotel,” Shereen explained. “Before I knew it, he had taken out the ring, slipped it on my finger, and proposed…I was speechless!”

Exactly one year after the proposal, their dream wedding came true, with an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family, the perfect ambiance set at The Loft and by Shereen’s maid of honour, Kamisha Smith. Escorted by her father, Keble Brown, Shereen walked up the aisle in a vintage satin mermaid gown to Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey’s cover of Endless Love, where Irvin was waiting. Rev Donna Calnick officiated the ceremony.

Dinner was followed by an evening of celebration. After the customary toasts and tributes, Shereen and Irvin cut their wedding cake from Heavens Décor & Pastries. Signalling the close of the formalities, the newly-weds wasted no time opening the dance floor to Shania Twain’s You’ve Got A Way.

Shereen and Irvin spent their honeymoon at Rosevale Estate, Montego Bay.
