Italy meets Jamaica

Italy meets Jamaica

On Friday, November 28, Milan caught the island’s pulse, not in postcards, but in the warmth and creative energy that animated the city at DOTS Milano for the second edition of Italy Meets Jamaica Dinner.

Curated by celebrated food writer Jacqueline Greaves and daughter Caterina Monda, with spatial design by Imperfetto Lab and CARADAVIDE, the evening felt like a choreography of conversation, culture, and movement. Guests varied from creatives of the Jamaican Diaspora to European creatives and cultural nomads who moved through the space with ease, drawn together by a shared sense of curiosity and connection.

The globally acclaimed Stush in the Bush, recently named one of North America’s 50 Best Restaurants provided the culinary rhythm, each course unfolding like a quiet meditation on flavour, texture, and heritage.

Meanwhile, London-based artist and DJ CKTRL guided the room’s energy into a dancehall-infused crescendo, transforming the evening into a celebration as much as a gathering.

The night’s texture extended beyond taste and sound. Thoughtful contributions from partners including DOTS, Campari Group, Manuel Mathieu Parfums, Uniqlo, and Bitossi Home created a layered sensory experience, while a silent auction and donation portal supported BREDS Treasure Beach Foundation and Transwave Jamaica, giving the evening a meaningful purpose. By the time guests departed the dinner had morphed into a living expression of the island’s essence – warm, imaginative, unconfined, and an intimate reminder of how culture thrives when creativity, community, and intention intersect.
