A Florida couple has reportedly filed a lawsuit against a fertility clinic, alleging that their newborn daughter is not genetically related to them following an in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure, according to a report by WESH 2.

Reports are that the couple, John and Jane Doe, filed a complaint in the Palm Beach County Circuit Court against IVF, Inc D/B/A Fertility Center of Orlando and medical doctor Dr Milton McNichol.

The couple reportedly used their egg and sperm to create three viable embryos at the clinic. One of the embryos was reportedly implanted in Jane Doe in March 2025, resulting in a full-term pregnancy. The couple later welcomed their daughter on December 11, 2025.

According to WESH 2, the couple became suspicious after their daughter reportedly displayed physical characteristics of a child who was not Caucasian, despite her parents being Caucasian.

Genetic testing reportedly confirmed that the child is not genetically related to the couple.

The couple is reportedly requesting to immediately notify all patients who had embryos in storage before Jane Doe’s implantation about the allegations in the complaint and provide them with a copy, pay for free genetic testing for all patients and their children whose births resulted from embryo implantation through the defendants’ services over the past five years, and disclose any parentage discrepancies discovered through this testing.
