St Elizabeth man facing larceny and robbery charges

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — A 32-year-old St Elizabeth man has been charged with robbery with aggravation and using a firearm to commit a felony following an incident in Newcomb Valley on Sunday, January 18.

The accused has been identified as Ray Williams of Mountainside, St Elizabeth.

According to reports from the Black River police, at about 8:30 pm, Williams and an accomplice, who was armed with a gun, entered a bar in the area. The gunman reportedly pointed the weapon at an occupant and demanded money.

The men were handed approximately $50,000 before fleeing the scene.

A report was subsequently made to the police and an investigation was launched. Williams was later arrested and charged after he was pointed out during an identification parade.

His court date is being arranged.
