Three Jamaicans won gold at the 118th Millrose Games in New York City on Sunday.

World leader Danielle Williams, Ackeem Blake and Rajindra Campbell earned their first wins at the Games held at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory in the Big Apple, as they continued their preparations for the World Athletics Indoor Championships to be held in Poland in March.

Williams ran 7.90 seconds to win her fourth 60m hurdles race of the year, beating Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas who clocked 7.96 seconds with American Christina Clemons third with 7.97 seconds. Olympic 100m hurdles bronze medallist Megan Simmonds was fourth in a season’s best 8.04 seconds with Oneka Wilson seventh in 8.12 seconds.

Blake, who was winning back-to-back races in the USA after he won at the New Balance meet in Boston two weeks ago, ran 6.55 seconds to beat Puerto Rico’s Eloy Benitez, 6.60 seconds, and American Jordan Anthony who was third in 6.64 seconds. World Championships 200m medalist Bryan Levell placed fifth with 6.66 seconds.

Rajindra Campbell, who is in the process of switching allegiance from Jamaica to Turkey, threw a world leading mark of 21.77m to win the men’s shot put at the Games.

In the meantime, Kemba Nelson was fourth in the women’s 60m in a season’s best 7.28 seconds as Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith won with 7.10 seconds, beating the American pair of Jacious Sears-7.12 seconds, and Maria Maxwell, 7.26 seconds.

Natoya Goule-Toppin was eighth in the women’s 1000m in a season’s best 2:39.55.
