“We are doing this for a very serious cause. Hurricane Melissa devastated the western part of the island. We have a target of $150 million, but if we can get $250 million wi good. Wi nah limit wi self. The schools dem need it. Donate as much as you can. Give as much as you can.” This was the rallying cry from dancehall artiste Kemar “Ding Dong” Ottey, who joined fellow Sigma Corporate Run patron and world 100m champion Oblique Seville for Sagicor Foundation’s brunch experience at Broken Plate, Barbican, on Sunday, February 1. Amidst playful banter between the patrons regarding a bet on who would reach the finish line first, the event stayed focused on its vital mission: Raising $150 million to restore five western Jamaican schools devastated by Hurricane Melissa last October.

Page 2 brings more highlights.
