Ghana is seeking the extradition of a Russian man accused of illegally recording his sexual encounters with women and sharing the videos on social media without their consent.

According to a BBC article, the man has been identified in Ghana and Russia as a self-styled “pick-up artist” and online blogger in his thirties who had travelled to the African country to secretly film his interactions with women.

It is alleged that the man used a pair of smart sunglasses to film encounters before circulating the footage online.

The BBC reported that a Ghanaian official said an initial investigation had established the suspect had likely left the country.

It added that the country’s technology minister said he had invited the Russian ambassador to discuss the alleged incident. However, Russia reportedly does not extradite its citizens, except in extreme circumstances.

According to reports on social media, the man has been circulating footage of sexual encounters with women in Ghana and Kenya for a number of years.
