Business social – February 20
A moment of unity and compassion unfolded at the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) Company’s head office on Tuesday, February 3, as JPS shareholders joined the company’s leadership for a Hurricane Melissa relief handover to support affected team members.
The initiative saw Korea East West Power (EWP) Co Ltd and Marubeni Power International, Inc each contributing US$50,000, bringing the total support to US$100,000 for employees impacted by the Category 5 hurricane that struck the island late last year. Beyond the figures, the handover reflected a shared commitment to standing with employees during times of hardship.
The relief effort was coordinated through JPS People Operations with support from the JPS Foundation, underscoring the strength of the partnership between JPS and its shareholders and their continued focus on employee well-being as recovery efforts continue.
