Fashion Radar: LuxBrides JA

Tuesday Style Fashion (TSF) spotlights LuxBrides JA for this week’s focus on retailers. Under the fashion radar today is principal Samantha Grant.

About LuxBrides JA

LuxBrides JA was born in 2020, a year defined by uncertainty, fear and one that tested resilience across the global wedding industry. Just as I stepped into entrepreneurship, COVID-19 emerged, and almost overnight, the wedding industry was thrown into panic. Weddings were postponed. Guest lists were reduced. Brides were forced to reschedule their most meaningful day. Emotional exhaustion became the new reality. For many, it would have been a reason to stop. But for me, it became a reason to push forward.

What sparked the creation of LuxBrides JA during such a testing time?

I’ve always been deeply passionate about fashion, particularly bridal fashion. When I discovered the world of luxury bridal gowns, I was captivated by the craftsmanship, the elegance, and the emotion they carried. A wedding dress is not just something a bride wears, it represents a moment, a transformation, a promise to herself.

What stayed with me, even before starting LuxBrides JA, was watching close friends compromise on their wedding dresses. Not because they wanted to, but because they felt limited by options, time, or circumstance. Some weren’t truly happy with what they wore on their wedding day, and I remember thinking: No bride should ever feel that way. Especially not on a day meant to celebrate love.

So when COVID disrupted the industry, my focus shifted even more toward supporting brides emotionally as well as aesthetically. Brides weren’t just looking for gowns; they were looking for reassurance, flexibility, understanding, and someone who genuinely cared. LuxBrides JA became a safe space during a chaotic time, adapting to changing timelines, smaller ceremonies, and evolving visions.

To what extent did the lockdowns force a reimagining of your original goals?

As the brand evolved, so did my vision. I realised that my role extended far beyond the fitting room and that a bride’s journey extends far beyond choosing a gown. That realisation led to the development of Get Me Lux Ready, a bridal styling service where I work closely with brides on their wedding day to curate their complete look, from the gown to the finest details. It allows brides to feel confident, prepared, and fully supported throughout the process.

To further elevate the experience, I introduced LuxTransport, a luxury transportation service designed specifically for brides, ensuring they arrive relaxed, composed, and cared for on one of the most important days of their lives, all whilst sipping on a glass of champagne and enjoying sweet treats.

LuxBrides JA also supplies a curated range of luxury bridal accessories, including hair jewels, crowns, veils, bouquets, luxury bridal robes, shoes, and statement pieces. Each item is intentionally selected to complement the bride’s vision and allow her to complete her entire look in one refined space, reducing stress while maintaining elegance.

Looking back at the brand’s growth, what stands out as your most significant success?

What I am especially proud of is the consistent affirmation from the brides themselves. From the inception of LuxBrides JA, the brand has won the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Award every single year. This internationally recognised and prestigious award is based entirely on verified reviews from real couples, and it reflects the trust, satisfaction, and experiences of the brides we serve. To receive this recognition consistently speaks volumes about the brand’s commitment to excellence and care. Today, LuxBrides JA is recognised as a leading luxury bridal brand in Jamaica, known not just for beautiful gowns, but for the experience we offer. We have played a role in reshaping expectations within the bridal industry, showing that luxury can be intentional, accessible, and deeply personal. Much of our growth has come through word of mouth, with brides recommending us not just for how they looked, but for how they felt throughout their journey. Looking ahead, my vision extends beyond Jamaica. I see LuxBrides JA expanding across the Caribbean and into the international market, while remaining grounded in the values that carried us through uncertainty and growth.

In what ways did the pandemic bolster your resilience?

At its core, LuxBrides JA exists because I believe a bride deserves to feel powerful, confident, and completely in love with her wedding dress. Surviving COVID reinforced that belief and proved that even in uncertain times, beauty, love, and dreams still deserve to be honoured. This journey has taught me resilience. It has taught me faith. And it has shown me that when a brand is built on purpose, it can withstand even the most unexpected storms.
