Kingston College (KC) and Jamaica College (JC) are through to the semi-finals of both the urban Under-14 and Under-16 football competitions.

Defending champion KC and JC are joined by Wolmer’s Boys and Campion College in the Under-14 tournament and by defending champions St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) and Mona High in the Under-16s.

On Tuesday’s final set of quarterfinal games, KC drew 0-0 with JC and both teams finished on seven points in Group B, with KC topping the group on goal difference. STATHS defeated Eltham High 4-2 and finished third on three points.

In Group A, Campion College sneaked through into the semis after blanking Hillel Academy 2-0 and leapfrogging them into second spot on four points. Hillel was third with three points. Wolmer’s Boys topped the group with nine points after dismissing Excelsior High 3-1.

The semis are set for Monday, March 2, with KC taking on Campion College at St George’s College’s Emmett Park, starting at 2:00 pm, while Wolmer’s Boys face JC at Calabar High School, also at 2:00 pm.

In the Under-16, defending champions STATHS will meet JC at Calabar High at 4:00 pm and KC meet Mona High at St George’s College, also at 4:00 pm.

In Tuesday’s games, KC edged JC 1-0 and topped Group B with a maximum nine points. JC finished second on goal difference ahead of Excelsior High which defeated Wolmer’s Boys 3-2. All three schools ended on three points, but JC, with a goal difference of minus one, got through ahead of Excelsior and Wolmer’s with minus two.

In Group A, STATHS, Mona and St George’s College (STGC) all finished on six points with STATHS topping the group with the best goal difference of plus six.

STATHS lost 0-1 to St George’s while Mona sneaked in with an 8-2 win over Eltham High. Mona and STGC had identical plus five goal differences, but Mona advanced by scoring more goals, which was 10 compared to STGC’s seven and secured second spot.
