KINGSTON, Jamaica — Liat Air will introduce two new non-stop services from Pointe-à-Pitre, expanding connections between Guadeloupe and the wider Caribbean.

In a release on Thursday, the airline shared that it will operate flights to Antigua and Montego Bay, strengthening regional links and reopening onward connections to the United States (US) and the United Kingdom (UK) through Antigua.

From May 1, Liat Air will operate two weekly rotations to Antigua on Fridays and Sundays using ATR 42 aircraft with 48 seats. From July 2026, two additional weekly rotations on Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft with 50 seats will be added, making it a year-round service.

The Montego Bay route will begin in the first week of July with two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays using Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft. The service will operate year-round and is scheduled to commence ahead of Reggae Sumfest.

Chairman of the Board of Guadeloupe Maryse Condé International Airport, Alain Bievre, said the routes represent a significant development for the airport.

“The reopening of Antigua, a historic route, and the opening of a new gateway to the Greater Caribbean with Montego Bay in Jamaica mark a major step for Guadeloupe Maryse Condé. These routes, which follow new services to the southern Caribbean islands, Toronto and Quebec, realise the diversification strategy adopted by the management board. This success is the result of prospecting work carried out by our teams in close cooperation with local partners, and confirms our desire to position our airport as a major tool for the economic and tourist development of the Guadeloupe Islands,” said Bievre.

Chief Executive Officer of Liat Air, Hafsah Abdulsalam, said the expansion strengthens regional integration.

General Director of the Guadeloupe Islands Tourism Board, Rodrigue Solitude, also welcomed the new services.

“New routes are always excellent news for our archipelago because they foster not only tourist exchanges but also the coming together of cultures, history and traditions. The Guadeloupe Islands Tourism Board (CTIG) and Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Board welcome these initiatives, which help promote our destination; we can only hope to see a strengthening of these connections to other neighbouring island destinations,” Solitude said.
