Exactly a year after it was released digitally in the United States, Shake it to the Max (Fly) remix, the globetrotting hit by Moliy, Silent Addy, Skillibeng and Shenseea, has finally earn gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The certification, which commemorates 500,000 units sold, was issued on February 23.

In a previous interview with the Jamaica Observer, Silent Addy, who along with Disco Neil produced the song, shared the concept of the remix and how it was decided which artistes would be featured on the hit remix, which topped Billboard’s Rhythmic Top 40 Airplay and climbed multiple Billboard charts as well as European charts.

“The concept of Shake it to the Max (Fly) remix was to make a simple infectious club anthem that would do well on socials with a dance paired with it. We were working with Moliy in Miami at the Bashment Sound Studio and since we had done one session previous to the Shake it To the Max session. Disco Neil had put together a beat/production that he thought would be great with Moliy’s tone and style. Once she heard it, she immediately caught the inspiration and started to write and the rest is history,” Silent Addy told the Observer.

“The original song was teased on TikTok, and it went viral within several days and just continued to grow into the holiday season of 2024 into a viral sensation. As fate would have it, I was in Jamaica for the holidays and the song was being played at every event. At one of those events Skillibeng was in attendance heard it and I made the link with management and got the verse. Both Neil and myself were already connected with Shenseea’s team so once she showed interest in the song, we just connected all the dots,” he added.

Shake it to the Max (Fly) remix was previously certified gold in New Zealand (15,000 units), the United Kingdom (400,000 units) and in Greece (one million streams).

It hit the platinum mark in France, having being certified for sales and streaming equivalent to 200,000 units.
