Jamaica names strong team for Women’s World Cup qualifier against Nicaragua
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica has named a strong starting team to face Nicaragua in Monday’s Concacaf W Zone B Qualifiers at the Estadio Nacional in Managua, led by captain Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw.
Shaw is the only one of three players to score hat-tricks in their 18-0 thrashing of Dominica at the Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium in St Lucia in November last year who has been named in this team.
Jody Brown was not named in the squad, while Shanelle Buckley is part of the bench.
Chantelle Swaby, who did not start in November, replaces Naya Cardoza in the defence, while Shania Hayles, Jade Bailey and Natasha Thomas, also start.
