Skystar soars to the top with Wheel and Come Again

Although he has been doing music professionally since the age of 15, it wasn’t until over the last two years that recording artiste Skystar has finally got the recognition that he craved.

The Edmonton, Alberta, Canada-based reggae artiste, who is originally from Patrick Gardens in Kingston 20, was nominated for a JUNO award in the Reggae Recording of the Year category last year for his EP Sky’s the Limit.

He currently has the #1 reggae song in Canada with Wheel and Come Again. The song is the new #1 on both the Reggae North Canadian Top 20 Reggae chart and the Rebel Vibez Top Ten Canadian Reggae chart.

Released last July, Wheel and Come Again was produced by Dean Mundy of Diet Monkey Entertainment Inc.

Skystar migrated to Canada in February 2014.

Still on the Reggae North Canadian Top 20 Reggae chart, How Sweet It Is by Jah Cutta falls to #2, while Protect Us by I-Noah remains at #3.

I’ll be Your King by Akustix inches up to #4 and Nah Cheat by Iley Dread moves up to #5.

This week’s sole new entry at #20 is Rise Up by Belinda Brady, who is of Jamaican parentage.

Moving over to the Rebel Vibez Top Ten Canadian Reggae chart, Show Us the Way by Eddie Bullen, featuring Kandice K.A.S.H, Tasha T, and Mel Dube, moves into the #2 spot; and Forevermore by Jurney Star backtracks to #3.

Student of a Broken Heart by Exco Levi steps up to #4, while Get High by Mirian Katrib, Irie Souljah and Reggaddiction flies to #5.

Shine by JUNO winner Elaine Shepherd steps in at #7.

The Voice of The Caribbean, a Florida-based radio station that focuses on reggae and other genres, shared its latest Florida Reggae and Dancehall Top 20 Radio Singles chart.

Feel So Alive by Maxi Priest and Sean Paul spends a fourth week at #1, with Boom Body by Shaggy, Akon, and Aidonia staying firm at #2 after spending four weeks in pole position.

Moving up from #5 to #3 is What I Like by Moliy, Tyga and Ayetian, while Emotions by J’Calm and Nigy Boy backtracks from #3 to #4.

Faith We A Keep by Sean Paul dips to #5, while God Says by Vybz Kartel bolts from #19 to #15.

Lion Heart by Aiesha débuts at #18.

Over on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart, Jamaican (Bam Bam), a reconstructed house version of Sister Nancy’s Bam Bam by HUGEL and SOLTO slips to #5.

Boom Body loses steam on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart as it dips from #31 to #28.

Sean Paul and Keyshia Cole’s 20-year-old hit (When You Gonna) Give it Up to Me rises from #102 to #72 on Billboard’s Global 200 chart. On the Global Excluding US chart, it steps up from #61 to #41.

The song moved up to #33 on the UK Singles chart, #63 in Ireland, #17 in Lithuania, #52 in Norway, #46 in Sweden, and #39 in Poland.

Bob Marley and the Wailers dominate the #1 spot on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart with Legend for a 320th non-consecutive week.
