She is more than the sum of her associations. Taveionn Telfer, mother to the son of dancehall artiste Skillibeng, has carved her own space, turning heads not because of who she is connected to, but because of the world she is building for herself.

Once known for her vibrant YouTube presence, Taveionn has made the leap from screen to seam, her style now a statement that refuses to be ignored.

In the bustling corners of social media her aesthetic bold, effortless, and unapologetically her own. After all, she revealed that her genesis into the industry has been years in the making.

“I don’t think there was ever one grand moment that I realised I ‘had an eye for fashion’,” she reflected. “My parents were fashion icons in my parish growing up, and my mom would use every chance she got to do the most when it came to my outfits. Ever since I was a child, even though I didn’t know yet I had a passion for it, I was always intrigued.”

Yet it wasn’t until a few years ago that Taveionn decided to turn intrigue into enterprise. Still, despite being sure of her calling, Taveionn describes a period of her life when she struggled to transform that purpose into anything meaningful.

“People would always refer to me as a jack of all trades because I tried everything and was good at it all, but I never stuck to anything. It wasn’t because I didn’t enjoy whatever I tried; I just got bored easily,” she said, explaining that the restlessness resulted in her hitting what she described as her “rock bottom moment”. She told the Jamaica Observer’s Splash that, in that moment, she returned to her hometown, disconnected from the outside world, and confronted the parts of herself that had been lost in the noise of social media and fleeting hobbies.

“I did the work I needed to do to heal my mind,” she recalled, “while doing this I started feeling like myself again… I learned myself so well I became confident in my decisions and started to trust myself and God again.”

That quiet, introspective period gave birth to her vision.

“One late night, in May of 2025, I sat with myself and my journal in my bedroom and just tried to be as honest as possible. I wrote four pages, front and back, and by the end of it I knew I needed my own clothing line,” she reflected. “This was the one thing I could do that would need me to pool all my many skills together to create something magical.”

As she prepares to launch her debut swimwear line, Taveionn is not just designing garments, she is crafting identity. Each piece, she said, holds a narrative of confidence, independence, and self-expression, reflective of her journey as a woman determined to define herself on her own terms. Her focus, she insisted, is not on fame, but on creating work that resonates.

“With this drop, my first-ever drop, I want it to be as loud and bold as possible, all eyes on Alien Studios. My aim is to use it as a marketing tool to get people interested and eager to see what we come up with next. I’d love for it to be a reflection of my personal style and creativity, and for people to feel confident and empowered wearing it,” she said.

Early feedback from her audience has reinforced her vision. “Honestly, I’m blown away by all the love and support I’m receiving. My audience is clearly hyped and they’re eager for more… they’re looking for inclusivity; plus sizes, monokinis, you name it. We’ve got plans for everyone. We’re cooking up all sorts of goodies, and swimsuits are just the beginning,” she shared. “At the heart of Alienstudios is a celebration of boldness. It’s for the women who don’t just make waves, they crash them. We’re talking bold, unapologetic, and unfiltered. Our designs are for bodies that break norms and minds that shatter expectations. Expect seduction with a side of danger. We’re not just about looking good, we’re about leaving a mark.”

Alien Studios’ official website is slated to go live on March 12, but Taveionn is already thinking expansion. As a woman whose identity is often caught up with that of her famous babyfather, the entrepreneur said, more than anything, this line represents her emergence as her own woman.

“The goal is to establish ‘Taveionn Telfer’, because I am my own person with my own ideas and talents, which I’m ready to share with the world,” she said. “I’m excited to showcase a different side of myself, more entrepreneurial, creative, and authentic. I’m already looking to explore collaborations and new product lines that align with my vision. My focus right now is on growing my brand locally and internationally and connecting with my community.”

As she paces herself to create the future she’s always imagined, Taveionn Telfer is proving that style is more than a visual statement, it’s a declaration of independence, resilience, and creativity. With each stitch, each design, she is determined to write her own narrative, one that belongs to no one but herself.
