Commissioner lauds Manchester cops for huge ganja bust
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington today extended commendations to police personnel from the Manchester Division who seized 3500 pounds of ganja in the Alligator Pond area of the parish Friday evening.
Reports are that about 8:45pm the lawmen were carrying out a routine check at a beach in the area when several packages, containing the compressed ganja, were found. No one was arrested in connection with the find.
At the same time Commissioner Ellington urged members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force to remain vigilant throughout the Yuletide season and remain “committed to their duty to protect the lives and livelihoods of the Jamaican people, while at the same time treating them with diginity and respect”.
