Lesotho delegation to visit Jamaica
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Lesotho is sending a technical team to Jamaica to study land distribution strategies used by the National Land Agency (NLA).
NLA chief executive officer, Elizabeth Stair, said the delegates will be visiting the NLA to observe the agency’s Land Registry, Cadastre and Estate Management systems, so they can improve their land administration and management in Lesotho.
The group from Lesotho will consist of eight technocrats and administrators from the Land Administration Authority, and will be guests of the NLA for four days, from January 25 to 28, 2016.
Stair said that several regional and international government agencies and groups have already visited the NLA and examined the agency’s land management and land administration systems.
Some of the delegations which have visited the NLA came from the Republic of Azerbaijan, Cayman Islands, Grenada, Tanzania, Liberia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Turks and Caicos.
Lesotho is a democratic, sovereign and independent country surrounded by its neighbour, the Republic of South Africa.
