Primary school workers to get retroactive payment next week
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Ministry of Education is advising non-teaching staff in primary schools that they will receive the first of a two-part payment of retroactive monies owed to them next week Friday.
A release from the ministry said they will receive 50 per cent of the three one-off payments due to them under a previous wage agreement between Government and public sector employees.
“The balance of the outstanding amount will be paid to these workers in primary schools in December 2015,” the ministry said, while apologising for the delay in disbursing their payments.
