MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica — MICHAEL Troupe, embattled People's National Party (PNP) Deputy Mayor for Montego Bay, was granted bail when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court this afternoon.

However, his son Jevaughn Troupe pled guilty to illegal possession of firearm and ammunition and was remanded.

Both were ordered to return to court for sentencing next week Tuesday.

Members of the Lotto Scam Task Force arrested the father and son during a multi-pronged operation in Montego Bay.

Police said they seized a large quantity of cash and found the gun in a room at Troupe’s home.
