Miss Jamaica World Cornwall pre-judging

The pre-judging for the Miss Jamaica World Cornwall 2001, takes place tonight at the Caribbean Showplace, Ironshore. Thirty-five girls will be on show and of this number 25 will be selected to go on to the elimination and sashing set for the same venue, next Saturday.

Meanwhile, franchise holder, Lachu Ramchandani, has announced some of the prizes that the winner of this year’ s pageant will take home. These include $50,000 in cash, trip for two to Chicago, trip for two to any Caribbean destination or Miami on Air Jamaica, trip for two to Santo Domingo, Cuba or the Bahamas on Air Jamaica Express, weekend at any of the Super Clubs of Sandals Chain, one 20-inch colour television, watch and a number of gift baskets.

Vapours Night Club opens

Yet another nightclub has been opened at the Blue Diamond Shopping Mall, Ironshore.

This time, it the Vapours Night Club. The Club opened its door last week with a bang.

Collin Hines of Fame FM selected the music for the large crowd that was on hand as they danced until the wee hours of the morning.

Tonight, the Dance Hall Master GT Taylor will select the music at the club.

Super bingo postponed

The management at the Caribbean Showplace has postponed its super bingo, which was scheduled to be held tomorrow night at Caribbean Showplace, Ironshore. The event is now set to be held on June 24. Prizes include VCRs, TVs, blenders and jewellery. The grand prize is US$500.

Oldies party at Walter’s

The Walter’s Restaurant and Grill, Gloucester Avenue presents Oldies Party every

Thursday Night commencing at 10:00 pm.

Cash bingo at Falmouth All-Age

Brandis Promotion presents big cash bingo at the Falmouth All-Age School, next Saturday. Main prize is $30,000 and there are also instant bonanza prizes of £20, US $30 and Can. $30. Other prizes include fans, toasters, blenders and irons. Music will be provided by Soul Vibration Disco.
