ENTERTAINMENT OUT WEST

21st City Status Anniversary Celebrations

The City of Montego is now celebrating its 21st year of acquiring City Status, and a number of activities have been planned to commemorate this milestone.

Chief among them is the City of Montego Bay beauty pageant, with the sashing and presentation of the contestants scheduled to take place tonight at the Caribbean Showplace, Ironshore.

Football matches, cycle races, a ‘Jamaica nite’, and a cultural extravaganza slated for Montego Bay’s Civic Centre next Thursday, will also be held to mark the occasion.

Pieces Muzik plays on the Baltimore III tonight.

Montego Bay’s ‘most wanted’ disco, Pieces Muzik, entertains patrons tonight on the Baltimore Patriot III cruise boat.

The session, dubbed ‘Bonvoyage’ is being staged by Flette Promotions and begins at 10:00 pm.

Plans are also in place for Pieces, to entertain patrons again on the 85-foot, 100-tonne vessel, on October 20. At that time Fame FM’s disc jockey Ariff Cooper will be the guest selector.

New Attraction at Club Xclusive

In an effort to provide a variety of entertainment for residents in and around Bounty Hall, Trelawny, Club Xclusive’s owner, Joslyn Williams, has added a skating ring, at the entertainment centre.

This new attraction follows on the heels of the construction of a nightclub and a spacious outdoor area which can accommodate up to 2,000 patrons.

Williams, a returning resident explained that his decision to construct the entertainment centre in Bounty Hall was based on the need for top-class entertainment in the parish and because he wanted to give back “something” to his community.

He added that plans are also in place to stage a number of special events at the venue. These include a big fundraising event in December, which will benefit all the schools in the parish.

Bounty Killer for Pier Madness

Popular deejay, Bounty Killer ,returns to Montego Bay next Saturday, following his recent court appearance in the resort capital.

This time, however, the ‘Killer’ will be performing at Pier One in a production called ‘Pier Madness’.

Wayne Marshall, Assassin and Reagan will share the stage with Bounty Killer while music will be provided by Electro Force and Renaissance disco.

Admission is $500 and the show starts at 10:00 p m.

That’s it for entertainment news this week, until next week go out and have some fun.
