WESTERN BUREAU — Three teenagers were among five people arrested and charged in connection with the seizure of $16,000 worth of counterfeit notes in the Lucea Arcade in Hanover on Wednesday, will appear in the parish’s Resident Magistrate’s Court today.
The five were charged with possession of, obtaining and uttering counterfeit notes, after they reportedly tendered six $1,000 notes at the Arcade. They are:

According to the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) liaison officer for Hanover, Corporal Sandra Salmon, at about 2:15 pm on Wednesday, the five accused went to the Arcade at the market where they purchased items of clothing from two vendors. The purchase amounted to $6,000.
Salmon said after the notes were tendered, the vendors discovered that they were counterfeit and called in the police.
