Cabinet approves directors for seven agencies
CABINET on Monday approved the appointment of board of directors who will serve seven government agencies over the next two years.
Minister of information, Senator Burchell Whiteman announced the appointments at the weekly post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House.
The agencies are:
* the Self Start Fund;
* the Micro Investment Development Agency (MIDA);
* the Devon House Limited;
* the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica;
* the Trade Board;
* the Jamaica Bureau of Standards and;
* the Dental Council.
Trevor Blake has been appointed as chairman of the Self Start Fund with other members being: Len Hutchinson, Reginald Budhan, Lloyd Garrick, Albert Grey, Janet Johnson-Haughton, Audrey Budhai and Claudine Allen.
For MIDA, the chairman is Anthony Freckleton. He will be joined by Michael Prescod, Dr Jaslin Salmon, Dimario McDowell, Anne Marie Bonner, Susan Thompson, Brenda Cuthbert, Beverley Rose-Forbes and Noel Arscott.
The chairman for the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica is John Cunningham, with the other members being Dr John Cooke, Dr Raymond Wright, Dawn Young, Glen Smith, Robert Stephenson, Novelette Anderson, Lloyd Tomlinson, Elaine Walker, Stephen Sterling, Conroy Watson and Ambassador Anthony Hylton.
For the Trade Board Limited, the chairman is Ambassador Peter King, while Audrey Budhai is the vice- chairman. The other members on that board are: Clause Heitmann, Andrene Collings, Donovan Nelson, Sandra Harris, Chris Cargill, Dr Lorna Simmonds, Raymond Reece, Alvin Poyser, Andre Hylton, Connie Holdworth-Black, Wayne Smith and Richard Gordon.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Devon House Limited is Francis Kennedy. The others members are: Stephen Jones, Wayne Sutherland, Fitzroy Gregory, Ricardo Chin, Hartley Neita, Valrie Veira, Pat Ramsay, Sonia Hamilton, Carole Guntley and Ann Hodges.
