Jamaica’s Reggae Racers make winner’s podium at famous racing series in Germany
HOCKENHEIM, Germany – Jamaican Reggae Racers, Tommi Gore and Senna Summerbell earned spots on the winner’s podium at the ADAC GT4 racing series in Germany on Sunday.
Copping third place in the first race and a Top 5 spot in the final race, the achievement marked the first time that Jamaica was represented in the famous European GT4 motorsport event.
The Reggae Racers delivered a phenomenal performance nabbing Jamaica’s first-ever trophies in the series.
According to a release on Tuesday, Summerbell, 22, and Gore, 19, whose fathers are also active race drivers, have now managed to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with on the international racing scene.
“We decided to take part in the ADAC GT4 Germany because we realised that it is one of the fastest growing GT championships in the world – and can offer us and our brands, which are on board this season, many opportunities to present themselves,” the duo shared.
The ADAC GT4 racing series, which comprised a total of six race events at legendary race courses in Germany and Austria from April to October 2024, saw the pair achieving a 14th overall placing in the championship.
The Reggae Racers, dubbed the ‘figurehead of Jamaican motorsport,’ say they are committed to the continued growth of motorsport in the Caribbean and beyond. They are supported by the Jamaica Tourist Board as well as the S Hotels and the Sandals Resorts.
