Love triangle teen’s alleged killer for court March 18
A Westmoreland man, one-third of a love triangle that left a teenager dead, will re-appear in the Savanna-la-mar Resident Magistrate’s Court on March 18 to answer a charge of murder.
Twenty-five year-old Robert Lewis of White Hall Housing Scheme has been accused of killing 17 year-old Dwight Brown, a former labourer of Negril, during a dispute over a woman.
Lewis was remanded in custody when he made his first appearance in court Tuesday, after the clerk revealed that the post-mortem report is still outstanding and will not be ready until early March.
It was also suggested that Lewis be interviewed for a legal aid attorney, so that he could be represented at the next mention date, which is a little over two weeks away.
Allegations are that at about 1:50 pm on January 28, Brown and Lewis were arguing in the Negril Bus Park, when Lewis reportedly accused Brown of having an affair with his girlfriend.
Lewis then left the park and returned with a machete, which he allegedly used to inflict multiple chop wounds to the teen’s body.
Shortly after, residents attacked Lewis and chopped him several times before handing him over to the police.
