Teacher dies suddenly

ERROL Jones, a Technical Drawing teacher at the Marcus Garvey Technical High School in St Ann, collapsed and died yesterday, leaving his colleagues and students in shock and mourning.

The death of Jones, who was in his 50s, marked the end of 16 years of service to the co-educational school.

“He fell at a ball ground near his home while on the way to school at about 11:30 am,” explained school principal, Leslie Riley. “It’s really a sad time for us here… he was a very quiet man and a good teacher…”

According to Riley, Jones was appointed head of the Technical Drawing Department eight months ago.

“He served well,” said Riley.
