One dead, two injured in Central Kgn shooting
A man was shot dead and two other persons shot and injured by gunmen in Central Kingston Monday.
The dead man has been identified as Jason Uter, a 25 year-old chef of Law Street, Kingston while injured are a man and a woman ages 37 and 42 respectively.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) metro officer reported that at about 6:50 pm, Uter was at the corner of Hanover and East Queen Streets when he was approached by four men armed with guns. The men reportedly opened fire hitting him in the back. He reportedly ran onto Law Street where he collapsed. A woman who was close by was also hit. The gunman then went to Rum Lane where they opened fire hitting a man. The injured persons were taken to hospital where Uter died while undergoing treatment and the others admitted.
The Kingston Central Police who are investigating found four 9mm spent shells on the scene.
Mason on cocaine rap
A 25 year-old mason was charged for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act in Montego Bay, St James Monday.
Facing charges of possession of, dealing in and importing cocaine is Kevin Brown of St Dacre, St Ann.
The CCN’s St James liaison officer reported that at about 5:00 pm on Thursday, April 10, Brown arrived at the Sangster International Airport from Curacoa and was interviewed by the police. Based on the interview, he was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he passed out 106 pellets of Cocaine weighing 0.79 kilogram (1 3/4lb) over a period of time. He was charged on Monday.
