Identity of drowned teen still a mystery
WESTERN BUREAU – The Montego Bay police were yesterday still trying to determine the identity of a teenage boy who drowned while swimming at the AquaSol Theme Park in the city.
The lifeless body of the boy, who is believed to be about 15 years old, was discovered at about 4:30 pm on Wednesday.
According to the Montego Bay Quick Response Unit, a lifeguard on duty at the beach heard repeated shouts for help coming from the direction of a pile of rocks in the water. He answered the call and found the youth trapped between two boulders.
The boy was later pronounced dead at the Cornwall Regional Hospital. He has since been removed to the Madden’s Funeral Home in the city.
It has been several days now since the drowning but no-one has come forward with a missing persons report. The police are now asking that anyone with a missing family member in that age range to contact the Montego Bay police station.
