St Elizabeth taxi operator killed in crash
A taxi operator was killed Thursday night after receiving injuries in a motor vehicle collision on Crane Road in Black River, St Elizabeth.
Police identified him as Joshua Collins, 40, of Burnt Savannah in the parish.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reported that at about 9:30 pm, Collins was driving a Toyota Corolla motor car along Crane Road when he was involved in a collision with an Isuzu truck. He sustained multiple injuries and was taken to the Black River Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
New Haven house goes up in smoke
FIRE Thursday night destroyed a three-bedroom house at Columbus Drive in New Haven, Kingston 20.
According to the CCN’s metro officer, at about 7:15 pm fire was seen coming from a section of the house, which quickly spread, engulfing the building.
Two units from the York Park Fire Department extinguished the blaze. Loss has been estimated at $2 million.
Portmore gardener missing
FORTY year-old gardener Bryan Johnson, otherwise called “Friend”, of 4 West in Greater Portmore, St Catherine has been reported missing since March 3.
He is of dark brown complexion, slim built and about 160 centimetres (5 ft 3 ins) tall.
Johnson, according to the CCN, left his home at about 9: 45 pm on March 3 for an undisclosed location. When he did not return home within a reasonable time, a report was made to the police.
At the time he went missing he was clad in a short khaki pants, white T- shirt with the Jamaican flag at the back and a pair of black shoes.
