Cops question suspect about Stella Maris murder
A man has been held for questioning in connection with last week’s murder of Vilma Mais, the 62 year-old woman who was stabbed to death on the grounds of the Stella Maris Catholic Church in St Andrew.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Leslie Green, who is currently working with the Grants Pen police on the case, told the Observer that the man is a resident of Grants Pen, which is close to the church were Mais was attacked and stabbed after she went to the church to pray last Wednesday.
“He was arrested on Monday as a result of intelligence we received,” said Green. “But we are still appealing to witnesses to come forward,” added the assistant commissioner.
