Cops release names of four killed in alleged shoot-out in Clarendon
THE police have now identified all four men killed in an alleged shoot-out in Alexandria, Clarendon on Saturday.
The identities of those released yesterday are:
. George Tyndale, 17, a labourer of Effortville, Clarendon;
. Roshane Johnson, 17, a labourer, also of Effortville, Clarendon; and
. Shyan Bennett, 23, a labourer of Bucknor, Clarendon.
Bennett is the brother of 21-year-old Anthony Bennett, who was also killed in the alleged shoot-out and was identified by the police shortly afterwards.
According to the Constabulary Communication Network’s liaison officer for Clarendon, Constable Odale Mulgrave, at about 5:00 am Saturday a police team carried out a raid in Alexandria in search of four men who were wanted for several major crimes, including murders and shootings.
The constable said the police party came under gunfire on approaching the house, and returned the fire.
Mulgrave said the four men were found suffering from gunshot wounds after the shooting and were taken to the Chapelton Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The police said they recovered a .380 semi-automatic pistol with three live rounds; a Glock 17 semi-automatic pistol with four live rounds, and a Webley nemesis pistol from the shooting scene.
Anthony Bennett, the police said, was wanted in connection with the August 7, 2006 murder of Patrick Mason, a taxi operator from Bucknor.
