No school at Middlesex Corner Primary in Hanover
HANOVER’S Middlesex Corner Primary School was not opened yesterday as repair work started during the summer holidays was not completed on time.
However, school officials said arrangements were being made to conduct classes for the more than 400 students at the Middlesex United Church Hall as of next Monday.
There were also reports of overcrowding at the Lucea Primary and Esher Primary Schools in the parish. Several parents complained to the Observer that their children were turned away from these institutions because of a lack of space.
Meanwhile, two new schools, Hopewell High and the Rhodes Hall High, which were constructed by government to ease the shortage of high school spaces in the parish were opened for classes.
