Braeton man shot dead in Kingston
CONROY Peterkin, otherwise called “Rum”, 35, of Barracuda Way, Braeton, St Catherine, was shot dead by unknown assailant(s) along East Guango Crescent in Kingston on Monday.
The police reported that at about 11:45 am residents heard explosions and alerted the police, who later found Peterkin in a Toyota Hiace mini-bus suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
10 kilos of cocaine found in shipment from Curacao
THE narcotics police were yesterday still conducting investigations into last Friday’s seizure of more than 10 kilogrammes of cocaine at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston. No one has been arrested in connection with the find.
According to the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN), the police’s information arm, at approximately 11:00 am on Friday, the police were making routine checks at the airport with sniffer dogs, when one of the dogs alerted officers to a black bag, which was amongst a shipment of rags from Curacao, in the cargo area of the airport.
The CCN said a search of the bag was conducted and it was found to contain packages of cocaine amounting to more than 10 kilogrammes.
Youth murdered in Hamilton Gardens
THE St Catherine South Homicide Unit has commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man at White Road, Hamilton Gardens, St Catherine on Monday night.
The dead man has been identified as Terefe Scott, 19, of Walker’s Avenue, Gregory Park, St Catherine.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) said residents heard explosions at about 8:40, after which they found Scott suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he died while being treated.
Grove Place teenager missing
SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD Shelly-Gaye Lewis, otherwise called “Crystal” of Grove Place District, Manchester, has been reported missing since Wednesday, September 20.
The CCN reported that Shelly-Gaye went missing from home about 10:00 pm. She is of dark complexion, medium build and about 165 centimetres tall. When last seen, she was dressed in blue jeans, black blouse and purple slippers.
Anyone knowing her whereabouts is being asked to contact the Cottage Police Station at 965-4009, police emergency at 119 or the nearest police station.
