Patterson made no recommendation on Trafigura issue, says PNP
CHAIRMAN of the ruling People’s National Party (PNP) Robert Pickersgill has accused the Observer of deliberately misleading the Jamaican public on Sunday by saying that former Prime Minister P J Patterson had recommended that “heads must roll” in the Trafigura issue.
Pickersgill, in a press statement, said Patterson made no such recommendation and that the former prime minister left the island on Friday and was scheduled to return today.
“.The newspaper is being less than responsible by inaccurately reporting that Mr Patterson made comments that threw the party into ‘turmoil’,” Pickersgill said in his statement.
The PNP chairman urged the media to carry out “its very necessary role” in a fair and balanced manner.
