Minibus mows down 9-y-o schoolgirl
ROSE HALL, St James – Angeellia Gray, a nine-year-old grade three student of John Rollins Success Primary School, was yesterday mowed down by a minibus while attempting to cross the Rose Hall main road.
The little girl, who resided at Lilliput in the parish, had just left school and was attempting to cross the road at about 3:00 pm to await a taxi to take her home when she ran into the path of the minibus travelling from Lilliput and heading to Montego Bay, the police reported. Angeellia died on the spot.
The driver of the minibus was up to late yesterday being questioned by the Barrett Town police.
Yesterday, chairman of the John Rollins Success Primary School, Joe Hylton, apparently shaken by the death of his student, was upset that despite several requests to the Ministry of Education, a traffic warden was still not placed along the busy thoroughfare to assist the children in crossing.
