Superintendent Harry Daley now at Court and Detention Dept
THE police high command yesterday announced that former commander of the St Catherine South Police Division, Superintendent Terrence Bent, will replace his colleague Superintendent Harry ‘Bungles’ Daley as head of the St Catherine North Division.
Daley was Tuesday transferred, temporary, to the Courts and Detention Department while investigations take place into an incident where a Jamaica Defence Force soldier allegedly pointed a 9mm pistol in Daley’s face during a joint police/military operation at a dance in Spanish Town last Saturday night.
The constabulary’s director of communications, Karl Angell, said the transfer was done in order to facilitate the investigations.
The army has also commenced its own probe into allegations that the soldier, said to be a major, drew his pistol on the senior police officer.
“The investigations are still under way,” said Major Charlene Steer.
