Westmoreland Police beat Perry Strikers

Westmoreland Police Youth Club (WPYC) created some space at the top of Zone B in the Captain’s Bakery Westmoreland Football Association’s Major League after beating Perry Strikers 3-1 in a return- round game at Prospect on Monday afternoon.
Everette Rodney scored twice in the first half to help WPYC to their second win over Perry Strikers this seasons after taking the first round game 2-0 in November.
Rodney scored in the 12th and 28th minutes while Yhance Clarke scored the other in the 81st as Oniel McIntosh got Perry Strikers’ lone goal with a 22-yard free kick in the 19th minute.
The win was WPYC’s third of the season and improved their points tally to 10, two more than mid-season champions Paul Island who were held 1-1 by Mt Grace.
The teams had played to a 3-3 draw in their first round game last month.
Grotto who had lost 3-0 to Roaring River in the first round, managed to get a point in the return-round game that ended 1-1 on Monday.
Kevroy Drummond gave Grotto the lead in the 30th minute while Andre Vassell equalised in the 86th minute.
