Tomorrow’s people meet Mountain Villa today
ROSE HALL, St James
Leaders Tomorrow’s People will seek to stay atop the points tables in the St James Football Association’s JNBS/Hart Senior League this afternoon when they take on Mountain Villa in a first round game at the Wyndham field, starting at 3:30 pm.
Tomorrow’s People chalked up their third win in four games on Monday, edging winless Gully Ambassadors in Granville to improve to nine points while Mountain Villa went down to the unbeaten Catherine Hall 3-0 at Catherine Hall.
Catherine Hall’s win, their second straight after two goal-less draws, moved them to within a point of the leaders and they will go after win number three today against Salt Spring Roses and Bogue.
Catherine Hall is one of the in form teams, scoring all seven goals in their last two games and will be up against a Salt Spring club that has scored just three goals and conceded as much.
Granville City who beat Champions 2-1 at the UDC field on Monday will turn their sights on Abes Academy who has earned just one point from their last two games after opening the season with back to back wins.
Granville will hope their familiarity with the Sam Sharpe Teachers College grounds will give them an advantage as they seek their third win.
Melbourne who got off to a bright start stumbled over their last two outings, a big loss to Catherine Hall, then a draw against Abes on Monday and will seek to get back on winning ways when they meet a slow-starting ACES at Albion.
ACES has won just once in four outings so far and is on four points, three behind Melbourne.
In the other game scheduled, Champions is expected to beat Gully Ambassadors at the UDC field.
