Delroy Woolery to be tried for simple larceny
MONTEGO BAY, St James – A Montego Bay man who said he was asked by someone to pick up a bucket that contained diesel oil at a gas station was remanded by police after pleading not guilty to simple larceny when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court Tuesday.
Delroy Woolery appeared unsure of himself in court as he gave several different answers to simple questions.
At first he told the Clerk of Courts his name was Osborne Wallace then denied he had any previous convictions before admitting to being sentenced to 30 days for a similar charge.
The court heard that the complainant, a businessman, noticed he was losing diesel oil from his vehicles and decided to do something about it.
On September 11, he parked his truck at a gas station and then began watching it, the court heard.
At about 5:00 am the next day, he saw Woolery put a hose in the gas tank and the other end in a bucket.
The complainant then held onto the accused man, locked him in a room and called the police.
Woolery return to court on October 29 when he will be tried.
