High school watchman’s murder remains a mystery
MONTEGO BAY, St James – The police are yet to charge anyone in connection with last year’s murder of Lloyd Miller, a former watchman at the Anchovy High School in St James.
The body of Miller, who was 57 at the time of the incident, was discovered in a classroom with gunshot wounds sometime after 6:00 am on October 29 last year.
Another guard who was also on duty at the school managed to escape unhurt.
Yesterday, Peter Salkey, the Constabulary Communication Network liaison officer for St James, told the Observer West that the police do not have any leads into the incident which left the school community in a state of shock and mourning.
“Shortly after the incident, investigators had taken one man into custody for questioning, but he was later released without being charged,” Salkey said.
He added, however, that investigators are still probing the matter.
The police had also reported that the grille was removed from a section of the building leading to the principal and bursar’s office, where the gunmen stole two laptop computers and $1 million in cash.
