Golf ‘inventors’ for clinics tomorrow

THE inventors of the “stack and tilt” golf methodology are coming to Constant Spring Golf Club for two golf clinics tomorrow.

The instructors — Mike Bennett and Andy Plummer — may not be a household names, but in golfing circles they are considered to be the most knowledgeable teachers of the sport in the world.

Their students include Mike Weir, a former Masters champion, JJ Henry, Charlie Wi, Dean Wilson, Tommy Armour, Steve Elkinton, Aaron Baddeley, and their most recent winner on the Professional Golf Tour of America Troy Matteson. These players have combined to win over US$10 million over the past three years.

Their geometric model, which combines the use of basic geometry and physics, is quickly becoming the method of choice among the best golf players in the world.

Local golf professional Jason Lopez has organised the clinic which will be sponsored by First Caribbean International Bank through his affiliation with Bennett and Plummer.

“I have been very fortunate to learn from Mike and Andy over the last two years, they changed the way I thought about the golf swing completely” said Lopez.

“Their model is undoubtly a superior way to swing the club, and can be done by any level of player,” he added.
